Curators' Greeting

Welcome to The Mewseum, our first attempt to showcase the 10-year research of Mewology. Mewology refers to the general study of MewMew the supernatural creature and its related artworks and documentations in history, as well as the research on MEW3, an abstract collective concept. The existence of MewMew and the concept of MEW3 have been a mystery in various areas of study. Visual and textual documentations about Mew remained, but their origin is yet to know. In order to understand how MewMew and MEW3 were born and to understand their cultural impact, we launched the research in 2007. But we are still on our journey to solving the mystery of MewMew and MEW3. Yet, we hope that through this show, viewers can learn about this emerging area of study and acknowledge the existence of MewMew and MEW3.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mew3, a student artist from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mew3, always passionate about Mewology, has made artworks based on MewMew and MEW3. Her artist name, Mew3, was also inspired by her study in Mewology.
Special thanks to our sponsors Mr. Mizu Z. Aizawa, Elyon A. Joester, and Yin Zhi. They have been supporting our study in Mewology since 2007 when we launched this research.
Please enjoy the show and we look forward to your feedback and suggestions on our further research of Mewology.
